tl;dr Devora has no server, no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. What you create in the extension stays in your browser. This website sets no cookies. Devora is free and sells nothing, so there are no payments or purchase records.
This policy explains what data is handled when you use the Devora browser extension (“Devora”) or visit this website. Devora is an independent project by amandotyadav, based in India (“we”, “us”). Questions: amandotyadav@gmail.com.
1. This website
- The site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties.
- Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical data when you load a page: your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time. It is used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and is kept only as long as the host’s standard logs.
- If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and help you.
2. The Devora extension
Data stored on your device
Devora stores everything in the extension’s private storage in your browser profile (chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB). We cannot see it. This includes:
- Workspaces, layouts, widget settings, themes and preferences.
- Content you create: tasks, notes, scratchpads, snippets, logged coding sessions, goals, habits, Kanban boards, learning items, projects, reminders and background images you choose.
- Identifiers you enter for integrations: GitHub username, LeetCode username, Codeforces handle, and a weather location.
- An optional GitHub personal access token, stored separately, never synced, never included in exports, and sent only to
api.github.com. - Cached responses from the services below, timer state, and up to five recovery copies of your settings.
Devora does not read your browsing history, cookies, passwords or the content of other websites. It reads bookmarks only from a file you choose to import.
Data sent to third-party services
Devora contacts a service only after you add a widget or turn on a feature that needs it. Requests go directly from your browser to that service over HTTPS, without cookies. Like any web request, the service can see your IP address and browser user agent. Each service’s own privacy policy applies to what it receives.
| Service | When | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub (api.github.com) | A GitHub or activity widget is set up with a username | The username; your access token, if you saved one |
| LeetCode (leetcode.com) | Only if you turn LeetCode on and grant permission | Your LeetCode username; no cookies |
| Codeforces (codeforces.com) | A Codeforces or activity widget is set up with a handle | The handle |
| Hacker News search by Algolia | A Hacker News widget is on screen | The feed requested, e.g. front page |
| RSS/Atom feed sites you add | A feed widget is on screen and you allowed that site | A request for the feed URL |
| npm registry, PyPI | You search in Package Search | Your search text or package name |
| Stack Exchange API | You search Stack Overflow in Docs & Q&A Search | Your search text |
| Open-Meteo | You search for a place, or a Weather widget is set up | The place name; the chosen coordinates |
| Your search engine or a website | You search or open a link | Your query or the link, as a normal page visit |
Permissions
- storage: save your settings and data on your device.
- alarms: finish timers and fire reminders on time, even with no Devora tab open.
- notifications (optional): timer and reminder alerts, only if you turn them on.
- favicon (optional): show link icons from Chrome’s own local icon cache, only if you turn site icons on.
- leetcode.com (optional): read your LeetCode statistics, only if you enable LeetCode.
- Individual websites (optional): read RSS/Atom feeds you add; Chrome asks for each site.
You can revoke optional permissions in Devora’s Settings → Integrations or on Chrome’s extensions page.
Exports, backups and diagnostics
Exports are files you download and control. Personal content is included only if you choose it. Devora contains no telemetry. If you turn on developer diagnostics, recent errors are kept in memory in the current tab only, with secrets redacted, and are never sent anywhere.
3. Why we use data
- To provide what you asked for: run the features you turn on, and reply when you write to us.
- Legitimate interests: keep the website secure and protect it from abuse.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with our hosting provider to serve this site, and with authorities when the law requires it.
5. Retention
- Extension data stays on your device until you delete it, use Settings → Data & backup → Delete all data, or uninstall Devora.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the GDPR in the EU and UK), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to a data protection authority. To use these rights, contact us at amandotyadav@gmail.com; we respond within the time the law requires. Data held only in your browser is under your control and can be deleted from Devora’s settings at any time.
7. International processing
Our hosting provider may process data in countries other than yours. It is responsible for protecting it under its own policies and applicable law.
8. Children
Devora is a developer tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to what the extension collects will also be noted in its release notes and store listing before they take effect.
